Windy Gap is a member of the Evangelical Presbyterian Church (EPC) denomination. The EPC was started in 1981 and now consists of more than 600 churches with nearly 125,000 members worldwide. Our beliefs are deeply rooted in the Protestant Reformation, especially the theological and pastoral work of John Calvin. Foundational to the EPC is our motto: “In Essentials… Unity. In Non-Essentials… Liberty. In All Things… Charity.” This means that members of the EPC determine not to disagree on the basic essentials of the Christian faith (such as the deity of Christ), and to give each other liberty on anything that is not essential (such as the issue of ordaining women as officers or practicing charismatic gifts). But above all, the denomination is committed to loving each other and not engaging in quarrels and strife. Click on the following link for more information about the Evangelical Presbyterian Church:

Below is a list of some of our congregation’s favorite teachers and teaching ministries. These teachers span a variety of (mostly reformed) denominations and backgrounds, and their work is often our source of Sunday School and Bible Study materials.  Some have a specific ministry focus (e.g. families), while others are simply good Bible teachers.                                                              The McGuffey Community Bible Program is fully staffed and coordinated
by Christians from the McGuffey School District.

The program has been operating in the McGuffey area for over 40 years. Since the consolidation of elementary schools in 2002, more than 3,000 children have participated in this special ministry!

We are working extremely hard for the upcoming year, and we are excited about what is ahead regardless of what is seen! As always, there is no cost to participate in the program which includes puppet shows, a birthday bash for Jesus, crafts, an ice-cream party, prizes and gifts, including Bibles and more!

The participants are escorted from the school to the Claysville Christian Church, just across the street, each week where they participate in a program like what many would compare to a Vacation Bible School program.

Should you have any questions, or if you would like to discuss the objectives or the program in further detail, please contact Shelley Toland at 724.963.5659
